Dear Brethren,
Christians are commemorating the passion of Jesus Christ. After all, without it culminating into his death and followed by resurrection three days later, our redemption would have been impossible. While our focus is on this momentous occasion, it is imperative that we do not forget to engage those who have different beliefs surrounding this season.
Muslims believe that Jesus Christ was never crucified or died because Allah would not let his prophets suffer even though the Qur’an mentions at least three times how some of Allah’s messengers were slain. If one asks Muslims to provide the names of those slain, they wouldn’t. The Hadith also shows how Prophet Muhammad died an agonizing death, which spanned four years. (I discussed Muhammad’s death and also how Jesus Christ couldn’t be the same Jesus, Isa, Muslims refer to in an earlier post with the link below.)
They believe that Jesus is yet to die. The Hadith has references to how he is coming back to be married, have children, die and be buried according to Islamic customs. Muslims tell me to forget about the empty tomb in Jerusalem that Christians claim Jesus Christ vacated more than 2000 years ago. There is an empty grave next to Prophet Muhammad’s tomb, and it has been empty for about 1380 years and it does not belong to an Arab Muslim. Sunan Al-Tirmidhi states “Jesus, son of Mary, will be buried along with him [Muhammad]. …a place for a grave had remained in the house [a building that houses Muhammad’s tomb].”
Samuel Zwemer, the pioneer of Christian missionary work to the Arab world wrote, “The place of his [Jesus] future grave is already marked out between the graves of Omar, the caliph, and Fatuma, Mohammed’s daughter.” Why it took the all-knowing Allah 600 years to refute the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a question we should ask Muslims. Also, why Allah took his time and did not consider the highly publicized death and resurrection of Jesus Christ a problem at least through the first 12 years since the advent of Islam, and only turned in opposition when Muhammad moved to Medina, is another issue we should take up with Muslims.
I hope you had a blessed Easter celebration. If you need sources for this article, please visit http://www.cracksinthecrescent.com

I have read over a dozen books on “prayer” in the past twenty years. This is the only book that I put down quite a few times and got on my knees to pray. In chapter 9, The Will of His Desire and The Will of His Decree, to know what “will” are we to pray for is well worth the price of this book. Don’t miss this one!

“…only the Christian is able to call God “Father”. We are have an earthly father and I think by the time we come to God and called Him “Father”, we might have lost this meaning.
We can not find any prayer record outside the Bible where men addressed God as “Father” in their prayer until around early 1000 A.D. (Please let me know if do find such record).
I read books that encouraged Christians to use different names of God in prayer. Nothing wrong with that but there is absolutely nothing like “Father”.
The beauty of prayer is call upon God as "Father", unlike Baal’s 450 prophets, “they have to shouted, danced, prayed louder and cut themselves with knives and daggers, according to their ritual, until blood flowed. They kept on ranting and raving until the middle of the afternoon; but no answer came, not a sound was heard.”1Kings 18. Not so with our heavenly “Father” ‘for He heard us and listened to our prayer’. Psalm 116:1

Thank you Greg
If I may share my two cents of opinion on Greg’s question. If you find any disagreement of my reviewed and recommendations, please don’t take off your separation hat that quick because I might have a bigger separation hat. (JK)
John Eldredge & Stasi Eldredge’s book “Love and War: Finding the Marriage You've Dreamed Of” It is pretty much a re-titled of his previous book “Wild at Heart” Just the sub title of this book makes you wondered if marriage is about something you can dream of. John’s treatment in theological field is worse than my English grammar. (I will leave it here and move on.)
I do have a few books in mind that I personally have read and enjoyed them very much. My 1st choice is “Each for the other” by Bryan Chapell (very Biblical centered) 2nd: “When Sinners Say I do” by Dave Harvey (Gospel centered) 3rd: “Sacred Marriage” by Gary Thomas (Holiness centered) As far as Gary Thomas goes. I don’t read anything else from him. My 4th: “What Did You Expect??” by Paul D. Tripp. I believe for group discussion, it is better to have Paul D. Tripp’s DVD series with Leader’s and Discussion Guides. And for a free book on marriage by John Piper “This Momentary Marriage: A Parable of Permanence.”
Keep in mind, we do have a few choices on book but not spouse, once you said “I DO” that “DO” is “til death do us part”.
P.S. Everyone is an ADMIN of this group.

Before the celestial "shock and awe" judgments of the Tribulation are unleashed, God's Word describes a time characterized by false teaching and teachers SO strong, that it would even sweep away even true believers (Mark 13:22) if they were not sealed by the Spirit of God.
In Matthew 24 Jesus describes the world before He returns in His Second Coming, as a world where the love of most has grown cold because of false teachers (Matthew 24:11-12); and where "the Faith" will be nearly extinct (Luke 18:8).
The end of the church age is shown in Revelation 3 to be like the church at Laodicea where truth is light, self-centeredness is heavy; materialism and personal agendas run deep, and true Biblical spirituality is shallow.
Today we see such a sweeping array of deceptive false teachers as just the foretaste of this birth pang, which Jesus warned about and described--forming before our very eyes.
Never before has wrong teaching and beliefs about God been more widely proclaimed than in our day. In a continuous, 24/7 river erroneous teaching about God flows around the world: on radio, TV, cable, webcasts, podcasts, simulcasts, books, magazines, and everywhere in between—our world is increasingly filled with lies about God. And to this growing cauldron of darkness and lies comes the triumphant truth that—
Jesus Christ is The Key
The storm of lies raining down upon us today is a constant reminder why Christ's Church is to be filled with well grounded, grace-energized men and women who guard the truth that Jesus Christ gave us. We should be constantly declaring the truths we hold from John 14:6, to the confused world around us that:
* Jesus Christ is the Way—there is NO other road to God than the Lord Jesus Christ. Any belief system that is hostile to Him, denying of His deity, or claiming His insufficiency is FALSE.
* Jesus Christ is the Truth—at the center of all truth that leads to God is the Lord Jesus Christ.
* Jesus Christ is the Life—the only way to live a life that is guilt-free, fear-free, full and overflowing, is in the Lord Jesus Christ.
These are days when we who know and love the Lord Jesus should reach into our hearts and grab onto our anchor line and feel it strongly holding us securely—tugging us homeward.

Many of you probably aren't even interested in a book written by two authors whose works have been embraced and lauded by the Emergent Church/Emergence Christianity movement.
Jesus Manifesto, written by Leonard Sweet and Frank Viola, will be released on June 1st by Thomas Nelson publishers. I received an advance copy of the book and wrote a reveiw on April 28th. Although they say many wonderful things in exhorting a Christian perspective of the supremacy and sovereignty of Jesus Christ being first, last and everything in between, it is void of the atoning death of Christ. The atoning crucifixion of Jesus Christ is part and parcel of who Christ is. The person and work of Christ can never be separated from a true Biblical perspective. This half-gospel presented by Sweet and Viola is really no gospel at all.

I posted a critique of this book yesterday but forgot I could message everyone about it. It is mainly bullet points of some questionable theology I saw in the book. If anyone has read this, please comment as I'd like feedback. I only know one person who has read it (she sent me the book) but I've been told some Emergent type people are promoting it although the book and author are not Emergent, as far as I know.

Dear Friends,
We have launched a new website called "Biblical Spirituality" especially devoted to the study of biblical spirituality (Puritan, reformed, and evangelical spirituality in particular).
One purpose of this website is to provide unpublished papers that deal with the subject of spirituality for researchers. Thus, if you have written any paper (book reviews included) on the subject that has not yet been published, we encourage you to submit it to us, and we will have it posted here, so that others can also benefit from your work. The paper can be e-mailed to Brian G. Najapfour at najapfour@gmail.com
The ultimate goal of this site is to cultivate holiness in the lives of the believers, especially of pastors. We are convinced that the greatest need of many churches today is the holiness of their pastors. As Robert Murray M’Cheyne (1813-1843) says, “My people’s greatest need is my personal holiness.”
Please join us in this endeavor. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated . Many thanks!
Here's our website: http://biblicalspirituality.wordpress.com/
P.S. Please help us promote the site.
In Christ,
Brian G. N.
